Frans & Uanne

I would like to welcome Frans & Uanne to our blog this afternoon. We had been dying to be given the chance to shoot our very first Cape Town wedding at a wine farm and the opportunity came through this amazing couple.

This couple got married in Stellenbosch at the Nooitgedacht Wine Farm. When Zandra and I flew down the day before we decided to enjoy ourselves with a little (Cape Town wine tasting) experience. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and we felt like we were on honeymoon. That night, for the first time ever, I heard a lady screaming and my door banging. I soon realised it was an owl capturing it’s dinner! I heard from the reception that it was a great sign since they haven’t seen owls in a while…

The venue was super stunning with very old buildings with Dutch architecture, high bells, red ivy and overgrown vineyards. I was in my element! Frans was getting ready in a nearby house with his mates whilst Uanne and her sisters and mom where getting ready at the venue. It was alot of fun with the boys and when I got to the girls everything went smoothly. The ceremony was special and intimate. Everyone felt like family. Frans could not take his eyes off his wife and you could see the excitement on Uanne’s face. When we mingled with the guests in the garden I found out that the majority of the guests were all from Namibia! I was so welcomed and most of the guests invited me into their space to chat. The creative shoot was great and Frans and Uanne were relaxed and enjoyed the moments they had in the vineyard together and practising their dance in the picturesque mountains.

The reception was a blast and there was not a dry eye in that audience. You could see Uanne and Frans were loved by all. The first dance opened the dance floor and everyone got onto the dance floor for a great time! Thank you Frans & Uanne for entrusting such a special day into my care. I wish only success in your future together!
