Cameron & Carla
I would like to welcome Cameron and Carla to our website today! This couple tied the knot at Braeside in Ballito. It was a lovely sunny morning and the weather was perfect for a wedding!
I began my shoot with Cameron and the groomsmen at a local guest house in Ballito and the guys played along to all the instructions I gave to them. We played some pool, advertised Corona and helped each other with the ties. Cameron and Carla had bought each groomsman a gift with their ties which made their morning extra special! After I had finished with the boys I drove to the girls, who were literally around the corner! They were super busy with makeup and their hair been done. The girls were lovely to work with and Carla was quite calm and collected. The dress was beautiful and I tried something different with the dress, away from my normal shots and shot the dress on the top of the stairs. I did a similar shot with the bride as well in the same spot. I decided to shoot the bridal party at the venue as I could see the light was way too bright with such a large group.
At the venue the decor was set up beautifully and everyone was eager for Carla’s arrival. Cameron was full of nerves but his groomsmen comforted him and became his strength for the morning. When Carla came through the entrance Cameron could not take his eyes off her. The minister shared a great sermon and even though it was a hot day Cameron and Carla managed to brave the direct sunlight only staring at each other in love. After the vows were shared and they had their first kiss we exited the aisle and had some refreshments before calling all the family for photo sessions.
At the creative shoot I took the bridal party to the Hola trails and saw some raw logs piled up on each other. I got the bridal party on them but realised the wind was too much and needed a more sheltered place to shoot. Even at the Hola trails the wind was too much. So I decided on taking the Bridal Party back to the venue where I knew I could still get great shots. In the golden hour the sunlight did not fail me to produce amazing images of just Cameron and Carla alone! They were both very photogenic.
The reception was a load of fun and I made new friends from different countries. The speeches were heartfelt and the food was delicious! Carla’s dad had shared about her sports escapades and how proud he was of the two of them. It was a special moment. I would just like to thank Carla and Cameron for entrusting such a special day into my care and I wish them only success in their future together!
