Duma & Keneilwe
I would like to welcome Duma and Keneilwe to our blog this morning. Duma and Keneilwe got married in Swaziland at Duma’s home. This was my very first trip to Swaziland so there was some real excitement and nerves being in a foreign land. Duma’s family made me feel right at home when I arrived. The morning started great with all the family working hard at preparing the vegetables, the meat, the rice and everything in between. All the pots were busy as the family knuckled down to prepare for the main event. Some of the produce was grown at Duma’s home and the younger men had already started with the party vibes.
The tent, that was set up was well laid out and there was not a cloud in the sky, giving this couple perfect weather. As midday approached I saw Keneilwe for the first time in this beautiful dress, dressed like a supermodel, ready for my shoot. I took them to the height of the hill to begin with the couple shoot. It was just endless mountains up there, as far as the eye could see. I battled a bit with the sun but eventually managed around it and still got some amazing shots. When we arrived back the festivities began with a dance from the house to the tent. All the maidens walked in front of the bride as the brides family walked behind. After the first procession came Duma and all the men dressed as warriors to impress the bride-to-be. There was dancing, singing and celebrations made with lots of ululating and cheers of excitement as the wedding festivities took place. A few pastors shared from the Word of God and some speeches were also shared by family members. After some photos were taken we were spoilt with a team that specialised in traditional dance and they gave us a fantastic show!
This wedding was definately one I will not forget as this couple definately had alot of chemistry and allowed me to be a part of such a special day! Thank you Duma and Keneilwe for allowing us to be a part of your amazing day and I wish you guys all the best in your future endeavors together!
